Tips & Tricks
  • Invader Zed can fit into ANY comp with a flex slot. The example board shown here is one of the strongest fast 9 boards that usually plays Graves instead of Zed, but it doesn't have to be this comp. Again, it can be ANY comp with a flex slot.
  • However, you should aim to only play Zed when you can realistically go 9 which means you'll often want to be ahead of tempo when you click the augment and ideally with good econ
  • On the website, you can find any comp that can use Zed by searching Morgana on the tier list as almost any comp that can use Morgana can also use Zed in her slot instead. Again, remember you ideally want to go 9 since you are investing an augment into unlocking him so 2-starring him is important.
  • With Meeple Emblem, play him in the Meeple Corki comp. With Brawler Emblem, play him with Master Yi or any other Brawler comp and aim for 6 Brawler.

Economy Strategy
  1. Without econ augment, fast 9 is almost impossible without win-streak.
  2. Level to 4 if you have upgrades and a good item to place on one of those upgrades.
  3. Level to 5, unless on 3-loss streak.
  4. Level to 6 if on 4+ win streak (scout to see if necessary in high elo) or can stay above 40g.
  5. Level to 6, unless you would go below 30g. If you have to stay level 5 due to low gold (rare), then level to 6 on 3-5.
  6. Level to 7 if you can stay above 30g, otherwise stay level 6.
  7. Level to 7, or 8 if you can stay above 30g.
  8. Level to 8. Main difference from Fast 8 is how much you roll on 8. Ideally you are high HP and don't need to roll at all. Otherwise, roll for acceptable board and accumulate gold afterward.
  9. Level to 9 if you are rich enough to roll 40g+. Generally only possible with economy augment or encounter.
  10. Level to 9 if you can roll 40g+ or if low HP.
  11. Level to 9 and roll for important 5-costs. For the remainder of game, roll until you hit your 2 star itemized units. Can consider level 10 after hitting.

Meeple Zed is busted thanks to his mana regen – he’s playable at either Meeple 5 or 7, but I ran 7 and it was great

It’s very important to get Zed 2 ASAP, it’s a huge powerspike

NOTE: When Bard grants +1 Meeple to his closest allies at the start of combat, it applies to Zed if he has the Meeple emblem – BUT IT DOESN’T REPLICATE TO HIS CLONES. So if Zed ends up with +8 regen, his clones only have +7

  2. Anonymous

wouldn’t Dawncore also be fairly good on zed?

  3. Anonymous

Bastion emblem +shojin+eon is also busted, probably S or S+

    Just a small correction:

“However, you should aim to only play Zed when you can realistically go 9 which means you’ll often want to be ahead of tempo when you click the augment and ideally with good econ”

If you see Zed, click. Then BIS then WIN.

  7. unimentil

Faced this today and the person had Plot Armor. These guys were pretty much unkillable

Still shows just hit and max build despite being removed

Does climb the ladder work with Zed? I have it now so will report it in
EDIT: Does not look like it works)

    1. Anonymous

yeah he’s not climbing any ladder bruh he has no trait

  10. Anonymous

Had Iceblast Armor. Lost down to 30 hp with anima, reforged for it. Easiest win of my life, especially once you two star everything!

  11. Anonymous

Agree with bruiser spat op. He did absurd stuff for me

    1. Anonymous

do you play it with 6 bruisers?

      1. Anonymous

Personally I played with 4 bruiser with the nova tahm board but with urgot instead of fiora. He helped it be more stable on 7-8 as well since I didn’t have the gold to teleport to like vex 2 fiora 2 zed 2.

  12. Anon

Was playing Aurora-Viktor reroll for 3 full stages before realizing I was double contested, had Zed augment + Iceblast Armor (didn’t realize the interaction) on 11HP and then realized I had a game-winning combo on hand. Went on to win the lobby, thanks for the advice!

  13. Mark

Misfits is super strong with this build

You want to have a comp of cost 5 anyway and Misfits gives you a 600 flat HP boost to your entire team including zed

  14. sutekh

Clicked on the augment without knowing how to build around it, I was lucky to have a bunch of 2-star units to survive stage 3, and find the right units to play with. Having Zed early helped a lot and got me the dub. The way I see it, Tahm Kench is a bit OP with the way I got a 2-star Zed before stage 5 and steam roll agains the lobby.

  15. Anonymous

Add bruiser spat to OP, vertical bruiser with spat has 50% winrate

  16. Anonymous

There is a bug or something that ZED is not showing on my screen despite im level 10. ( cost about 60g rollin at lv9, 40 at lv 10 ), got all shen 2, fiora 2, vex 2, mor 2, graves 2 but no sight of the ZED. So you can flex ZED with other 5 legend and this comp still lit.

    1. d

you need his augment to find him in shops

  17. Mark

Make sure to get rid of Nova as soon as you reach level nine with Vex and Fiora to powerspike or else you go bottom 4 since Kindred isn’t strong enough

  18. Anonymous :)

What is the counterplay to this?

    1. Anonymous

      alt f4

    2. Anonymous

mech with fiora seemed to have a very good matchup into it in my games, even against zed with rfc

  19. Anonymous

This comp is BROKEN with any tempo. You probs want to open with NOVA or play NOVA to get tempo. I put RageBlade and Shojin with Zed and it works well too. I found that playing Rammus into the comp gave me more frontline with regular items on Nunu as well.
