Tips & Tricks
  • Ideally play from spots where you have Qiyana, Rek’Sai, or Gangplank to itemize early. The best components for this line are Sword, Glove, and Cloak. The worst component is Rod. Try to angle this line when you have a strong opener with good components.
  • Bel’Veth wants QSS + two damage items (ideally Kraken and GS). Can also build Rageblade + Titans (ideally only both together as they synergize). Avoid building Omnivamp items on Bel’Veth if possible.
  • Note that Omnivamp items are weak on Slayers due to their innate Omnivamp. Artifacts and augments that help you reach the Omnivamp requirement for Aatrox without building items are excellent.
  • If you can’t unlock Aatrox, play Gangplank instead.
  • This is one of the more resource intensive comps in the game as it requires a lot of gold to hit the board, has many units to itemize, and benefits from combat augments more than most comps. As such, consider angling from high resource encounters.
  • Play around Rift Herald if you can unlock it before your 4-2 rolldown (mainly if you are playing around Rek’Sai early game). Play around the 4 Juggernaut boards if you can’t unlock Rift Herald before rolling most of your gold on 8.

Economy Strategy
  1. Level to 4 if you have upgrades and a good item to place on one of those upgrades.
  2. Level to 5, unless on 3 loss streak.
  3. Level to 6 if on 4+ win streak (scout to see if necessary in high elo) or can stay above 40g.
  4. Level to 6, unless you would go below 30g. If you have to stay level 5 due to low gold (rare), then level to 6 on 3-5.
  5. Level to 7 if you can stay above 30g, otherwise stay level 6.
  6. Level to 7.
  7. Level to 8. Roll for desired comp until stable. “Stable” changes depending on rank, items, augments, composition, and patch. Melee carries and tanks get the biggest spike for 2-stars. Usually stable involves 2-star tank or carry and some other supporting 2-stars. Try not to roll below 10g.
  8. If you are weak (e.g., have no 2-star 4-costs), consider rolling again to 10g here. If you are stable, save gold to go 9.
  9. If you are low HP and haven’t 2-starred your carry and tank, roll to 0g. If you have medium to high HP with an upgraded + itemized 4-cost unit and some other upgrades, save gold to go 9.
  10. If high HP, consider waiting until 5-5 to go level 9. If medium HP, consider going level 9 if you can roll 20g or wait until 5-5. If low HP and can afford to go 9, do so even if you have almost no gold to roll on 9. If you can’t afford to go 9 this game, roll every turn for upgrades.
  11. Level to 9 if possible. From this point onward, look to level to 9. Acknowledge games where level 9 is not possible and roll every turn on 8 to preserve placements.
  12. For max cap games, you can either roll on 9 or level to 10. If you are itemizing a 5-cost carry and it is 1-starred, roll on 9. If you have all your main itemized units upgraded, level to 10.

Gilded Steel should also be a strong condition, not only he usually gives you fiddle, shiv or lucian/senna to cap the board but also gives a good amount of durability

who dafuq is suposed to hold the fking triforce?

    1. unimentil

      Usually Ambessa

  3. slayyyyyy

I think Bronze For Life II can be +2, feels significantly stronger than CB2 and Tiny But Deadly

  4. Mase

In this comp I think Ambessa with the Darkin Scythe+HoJ+Gage is equal to if not better than Bel’Veth with the Darkin Bow.

  5. ivern is shinigami

Fun but players are now forcing Brock just to counter this

  6. slayyyyyy

should be mentioned that 6 Slayers + BT unlocks Aatrox as well

    > Prioritize building 2 Omnivamp items so you can immediately unlock Aatrox on Level 8. Part of why Death’s Defiance is so good in this line is that it is the only Omnivamp item you’ll need with 4 Slayer to unlock Aatrox.

    Horrible in ASol meta

I found Prowler’s Claw pretty strong on Aatrox, another artifact option

got 5th with BiS 2star Belveth and everything else besides aatrox 2star. Just swap the darkin bow & augment to S+ instead of op

  10. metametameta

Nah bro Darkin bow is NOT OP!!! I got All main units with BIS items (belveth darkin and have pandora items) (Belveth+Atrox+Fiddle+swain tank items) And all board 2 stars get 4th place. So it’s not bad but actually not OP

      stfu lmao

I keep wondering what would be the best line to play with an extra slayer emblem, any ideas?

  12. Anonymous

Barely get top 4 each time I run darkin bow. Maybe I just have a learning curve, but I’m not feeling the “OP” rank

    1. Author avatarGM Blue

Darkin Bow Bel’Veth won’t win games. Let’s be clear about this patch: There are ONLY two ways to win a game: Bilgewater or Fast 9. Get any hope of winning a game without one of those two lines out of your head. What makes Darkin Bow Bel’Veth so good is the fact you get to play an easy, uncontested line (in most games) that is strong enough to guarantee top 4, possibly top 2 if you high roll. Just assume you are NEVER playing to win if you don’t have a spot to play Bilgewater or Fast 9

    2. Anonymous

yea.. dont pick darkin bow aug if u alrd have bilge/yordle opener (just go straight f9 much stronger) . imo darkin bow just good with noxus opener with mel

  13. Verdant Leaf

What makes the Thieves’ Gloves augments (Band of Thieves, Rascals) good in this comp?

  14. Anonymous

Is every single guide just “Play bilgewater until you can max this board out”?

  15. Anonymous

This is not OP. Got BIS on both Aatrox 2 star and BV 2 Star and placed 2nd because a double Aurelion Sol Frelijord comp would one shot everyone.

    1. Anonymous

I love the 1 game 2nd place sample size. Thanks for the comment brother – very insightful.

“op” with darkin bow my ass.

  17. Anonymous

No chance this comp is still S, Aatrox feels really weak on live

Not all traits are seen on the first view, maybe doing like two rows of trait icons on the left would be better?

Thank you for your inputs! 🙂 Great job 🙂

Could you explain what to do with lucky gloves? is there a unit that unlocks aatrox with them for free?
