Tips & Tricks
- Try to play Bilgewater in the early game as it is quite easy to get Gangplank 2 which can help stabilize your entire midgame. Generally do not go for GP 3 (even on 8) as there are higher cap boards with Mel which drop out of GP
- Prioritize building 2 Omnivamp items so you can immediately unlock Aatrox on Level 8. Part of why Death’s Defiance is so good in this line is that it is the only Omnivamp item you’ll need with 4 Slayer to unlock Aatrox.
- You can play 6 Slayer, but the unit quality is much lower. To see the variations, click the dropdown above the board. Make sure to scroll to see them all.
- If the Void mutation is bad, play Shyvana over Rek’sai (or if you have gold for Shyvana 2, you can play her instead)
- Lucian and Senna is a strong unit, especially if you have items, that will do competitive damage and also buff your team. However, if you find yourself with zero items for Lucian due to how item hungry the comp is, can consider playing Taric or Skarner if you have him unlocked
- BiS Belveth is QSS + Kraken + Flexible. She generally does not need any Omnivamp items at all, but make sure to at least build Kraken if possible
- Rageblade is good on Aatrox if you are in a spot where you must build it early game. There are several ways to build Aatrox, but the important part is CC immunity (QSS or Titans) + Omnivamp + flexible 3rd item usually

Economy Strategy
- Level to 4 if you have upgrades and a good item to place on one of those upgrades.
- Level to 5, unless on 3 loss streak.
- Level to 6 if on 4+ win streak (scout to see if necessary in high elo) or can stay above 40g.
- Level to 6, unless you would go below 30g. If you have to stay level 5 due to low gold (rare), then level to 6 on 3-5.
- Level to 7 if you can stay above 30g, otherwise stay level 6.
- Level to 7.
- Level to 8. Roll for desired comp until stable. “Stable” changes depending on rank, items, augments, composition, and patch. Melee carries and tanks get the biggest spike for 2-stars. Usually stable involves 2-star tank or carry and some other supporting 2-stars. Try not to roll below 10g.
- If you are weak (e.g., have no 2-star 4-costs), consider rolling again to 10g here. If you are stable, save gold to go 9.
- If you are low HP and haven’t 2-starred your carry and tank, roll to 0g. If you have medium to high HP with an upgraded + itemized 4-cost unit and some other upgrades, save gold to go 9.
- If high HP, consider waiting until 5-5 to go level 9. If medium HP, consider going level 9 if you can roll 20g or wait until 5-5. If low HP and can afford to go 9, do so even if you have almost no gold to roll on 9. If you can’t afford to go 9 this game, roll every turn for upgrades.
- Level to 9 if possible. From this point onward, look to level to 9. Acknowledge games where level 9 is not possible and roll every turn on 8 to preserve placements.
- For max cap games, you can either roll on 9 or level to 10. If you are itemizing a 5-cost carry and it is 1-starred, roll on 9. If you have all your main itemized units upgraded, level to 10.

I found Prowler’s Claw pretty strong on Aatrox, another artifact option
got 5th with BiS 2star Belveth and everything else besides aatrox 2star. Just swap the darkin bow & augment to S+ instead of op
Nah bro Darkin bow is NOT OP!!! I got All main units with BIS items (belveth darkin and have pandora items) (Belveth+Atrox+Fiddle+swain tank items) And all board 2 stars get 4th place. So it’s not bad but actually not OP
stfu lmao
I keep wondering what would be the best line to play with an extra slayer emblem, any ideas?
Barely get top 4 each time I run darkin bow. Maybe I just have a learning curve, but I’m not feeling the “OP” rank
Darkin Bow Bel’Veth won’t win games. Let’s be clear about this patch: There are ONLY two ways to win a game: Bilgewater or Fast 9. Get any hope of winning a game without one of those two lines out of your head. What makes Darkin Bow Bel’Veth so good is the fact you get to play an easy, uncontested line (in most games) that is strong enough to guarantee top 4, possibly top 2 if you high roll. Just assume you are NEVER playing to win if you don’t have a spot to play Bilgewater or Fast 9
yea.. dont pick darkin bow aug if u alrd have bilge/yordle opener (just go straight f9 much stronger) . imo darkin bow just good with noxus opener with mel
What makes the Thieves’ Gloves augments (Band of Thieves, Rascals) good in this comp?
Is every single guide just “Play bilgewater until you can max this board out”?
This is not OP. Got BIS on both Aatrox 2 star and BV 2 Star and placed 2nd because a double Aurelion Sol Frelijord comp would one shot everyone.
I love the 1 game 2nd place sample size. Thanks for the comment brother – very insightful.
“op” with darkin bow my ass.
No chance this comp is still S, Aatrox feels really weak on live
f you no teaching how to unlock aatrox
Mate learn how to read
you stupid? it literally tells you in game
LMFAO
Not all traits are seen on the first view, maybe doing like two rows of trait icons on the left would be better?
Thank you for your inputs! 🙂 Great job 🙂
Could you explain what to do with lucky gloves? is there a unit that unlocks aatrox with them for free?
got to the mel azir cap and god damn that shit hits like a truck haha
Heyy, you recommend playing Slayers from Bilgewater opener. What do you think about 3* Nautilus? He is Juggernaut with Briar and Warden with Ornn, and unlocking Tahm Kench keeps Bilgewater trait active. As he is bruiser, playing Herald/Volibear should be highest cap. It’s similar to Herald version, just Tahm instead of one of Herald/Volibear, and Nautilus&Ornn instead of Noxus units.
