Tips & Tricks
  • THIS IS A MALPHITE COMP. Prioritize Malphite items over all else early game. The best spots to play this from are ones where you have 2 full items on Malphite 2-1. Chain should almost always be your first carousel prio.
  • Item and reroll augments are ideal. There are many units you can itemize in this line and gold is important for hitting. The shimmer items are especially good as they help itemize all your units and get enough gold to hit the board.
  • Play this similar to The Crew. In other words, generally do not push levels until you hit your 3 star Malphite, Sivir, and Jhin. Kennen and Gnar are less important. Your rerolls will help push levels through The Crew bonus after hitting your first 3 star Malphite or Sivir.
  • Striker’s Flail is especially good with Spirit Sword Power Up as it procs Striker’s Flail twice — Once for Jhin’s auto, once for the Spirit Sword.
  • While Rageblade Jhin is not ideal, if you have to build it, then consider going for Artistic KO instead of Spirit Sword.

Economy Strategy
  1. Do not spend gold on leveling this stage. If you have 2-stars and a good item, you can consider playing to win some rounds. Otherwise lose streak is common for stage 2.
  2. Roll to 33 gold, buying any unit that will be part of the level 4 or 5 board. You can also buy units that will be part of the level 6+ board, but you can sell those if your bench fills and you need to buy other units. Rolling to 33 gold is advisable because it allows you to save back up to 50g by 3-5.
  3. Do not level if you haven’t hit your 3-star 1-costs yet. If you have your 3-stars, you generally should still stay level 5 if you can win or if leveling to 6 would put you below 20g. Try to get above 40g this round.
  4. Ideally above 50g, level 5 at this point or level 6 with 3-stars.
  5. If you haven’t hit your 3-stars yet, roll to ~52g each turn. You don’t want to roll to perfect 50g as any units you buy in shop will put you below 50g. If you have 8+ copies of an itemized 1-cost, you can roll to 40g or 30g every round instead. Level to 6 once you hit your 3-stars.
  6. If you haven’t hit your 3-stars yet, you must roll until you hit them. You should level to 6 after hitting. In some rare games, you will miss or spend so much gold you can never catch up. These games will usually result in bottom 4 placements.
  7. Level to 7 if you can stay above ~20g. Otherwise stay level 6.
  8. Level to 7.
  9. Level to 8 if you are in bottom half of lobby HP and are losing rounds. If you are higher HP and feel stable, you can wait until next turn.
  10. Level to 8 if you haven’t already. Roll for any remaining units necessary for the comp. If stable, you can try to go 9. Most games you will end on level 8.
  11. Level to 9 whenever possible. This is rare, but can happen in the games you have a chance of winning.

I’m trying this comp for some days and I keep losing. I don’t understand how it works. Do I absolutly need jhin 3 stars ?
Because when I roll for all my 1 PO 3 stars, I’m already low HP and all still 5 when they are 7 8
If I level up to find jinx varus I don’t have damages ?

    1. ivern is shinigami

the problem is it will get contested and your team is in trouble when facing other high sustain comps like yuumi prodigies

  2. Eric

If Crown is good on Jhin Reroll, would it be better here on another 3* Jhin comp?

  3. Anonymous

    ludens is straight trash

  4. Anonymous

What’s the reason for running double armor pen? Couldn’t we do better with one instance of armor pen and another damage item on Jhin or something?

    1. Author avatarGM Blue

It’s not literal — just showing you an option for frontline and option for backline. You want to ideally have it somewhere, but “obviously” not both. I say “obviously” because it’s become clear over time that this may not be so obvious as I’ve gotten some comments over time about it so might think about some other way to indicate this visually in future, although it is low priority. Sorry for the lack of clarity!

Got fishbones, made it top 5. I don’t understand

  6. Anonymous

What’s the reason Singularity isn’t listed and valued less than the rest, especially Max Vitality, on Malph?

  7. Eric

All I can say is, you weren’t joking that fishbones makes this comp OP as all hell, just took an EASY first with him

Innervating Locket Needs to moved into a atleast +1 condition no? Its in the alt builds so assuming it was just looked over.

    1. Author avatarGM Blue

In this case, it’s not looked over. It’s a usable item on Malphite so you could take it if you had a spot for this comp and an artifact on 2-1, but it doesn’t make the comp any stronger. Innervating Locket is not that strong of an item on Malphite; the main benefit of taking it is getting 3 items on Malphite ASAP.

I think the Gold Collector Augment is also really good on Jhin with 100% Crit and Spirit Sword. He just almost 1 tapped everything in the lobby. Was contested because of other Crew Reroll but still went first because of the sheer raw damage from Jhin

  10. Anonymous

Sword overflow has to be a strong condition, you have a million swords for all your snipers

    Which radiant do we need?

    1. Anonymous

the radiant versions of the importan items for each unit, Radiant Gargoyle>Radiant Bramble for Malphite, Radiant DB>Radiant IE Jhin, Radiant TG for Ksante

  13. Anonymous

Underdogs is S tier augment with this comp. You will almost always have less units.

    1. Anonymous

The healing is also really good on backline so your snipers don’t die to random chip dmg.

I fought this exact same comp today. We were down to the final two. After crafting 3 random items for Seraphine, the 5 Prodigy and 5 Battle Academia comps wiped everyone out. Gunblade over Striker really makes a huge difference. As you said, it’s always better to try different comps. It just wasn’t for me. Maybe try again later(when find prismatic ticket on 2-1 for me). And your welcome this site is really nice. I am happy to be here 🙂

    1. Author avatarGM Blue

Best spot for it on 2-1 is if you can have 2 item Malphite 2 (using component anvils encounter or an augment). It’s a common issue that players don’t prioritize getting Malphite items ASAP so that could have potentially been an issue too. Prismatic ticket is great too of course, but you still really want Malphite items sooner rather than later. Appreciate ya coming back and providing an update 🙂

I think some people think I’m saying something bad about the admin and the site. If you focus on what I wrote, you’ll see that my comment is entirely specific to this comp. If you did, you wouldn’t immediately go into defensive mode like an idiot. The site is absolutely great. Unless you have only decent Artifact or Varus, even with 3 stars and current items, this comp is very weak.

    1. Author avatarGM Blue

Think you might be fighting ghosts or on the wrong comp page, assuming you’re the same commenter as the one below. The other comments on this comp page were made BEFORE the comment below. As for the comp, it’s doing fine in professional play so I am not really that convinced it’s a bad comp — Just need to play it from a strong reroll spot and hit on tempo. In the stats, it is one of the best performing comps in the game. And I appreciate the kind words. I highly recommend that you are cautious judging a comp from your personal experience if you’re any rank below GM though. It might be possible you are not comfortable with the line and are better served playing other lines, which is completely normal and fine.

Neeko is 2 stars, Jinx is 1 star, the rest are 3 stars, and Pandora has great items and power snax. Varus wasn’t there, all I can say is, absolutely trash.

  17. Phentttt

I mean this website is so fkn awesome, thanks man. You the goat.

  18. Dutzie

Thanks for always being on top of these comps, absolutely goated
