Tips & Tricks
- Try to get Battle Academia in as soon as possible to stack HP on Garen with his Battle Academia improved ability
- If you get Manazane, place it on Garen early game with Battle Academia instead of Syndra so he can stack up as much HP as possible. Move it off Garen in late Stage 3 / Stage 4
- Seraphine can get any leftover items you have, if any, once you find her

Economy Strategy
- Do not spend gold on leveling this stage. If you have 2-stars and a good item, you can consider playing to win some rounds. Otherwise lose streak is common for stage 2.
- Roll to 33 gold, buying any unit that will be part of the level 4 or 5 board. You can also buy units that will be part of the level 6+ board, but you can sell those if your bench fills and you need to buy other units. Rolling to 33 gold is advisable because it allows you to save back up to 50g by 3-5.
- Do not level if you haven’t hit your 3-star 1-costs yet. If you have your 3-stars, you generally should still stay level 5 if you can win or if leveling to 6 would put you below 20g. Try to get above 40g this round.
- Ideally above 50g, level 5 at this point or level 6 with 3-stars.
- If you haven’t hit your 3-stars yet, roll to ~52g each turn. You don’t want to roll to perfect 50g as any units you buy in shop will put you below 50g. If you have 8+ copies of an itemized 1-cost, you can roll to 40g or 30g every round instead. Level to 6 once you hit your 3-stars.
- If you haven’t hit your 3-stars yet, you must roll until you hit them. You should level to 6 after hitting. In some rare games, you will miss or spend so much gold you can never catch up. These games will usually result in bottom 4 placements.
- Level to 7 if you can stay above ~20g. Otherwise stay level 6.
- Level to 7.
- Level to 8 if you are in bottom half of lobby HP and are losing rounds. If you are higher HP and feel stable, you can wait until next turn.
- Level to 8 if you haven’t already. Roll for any remaining units necessary for the comp. If stable, you can try to go 9. Most games you will end on level 8.
- Level to 9 whenever possible. This is rare, but can happen in the games you have a chance of winning.
Got a first with Cooking Pot + Prodigy Emblem (kept on rell for most of the game, buffing garen)
Pretty fun, not sure how good it actually is.
I think Radiant Blue on Syndra could be a potential S maybe even S+
Went first against 7 Crystal Gambit 250 Cash and 4 Star Kennen Hero Augment in Mid Diamond.
Syndra could’ve been way stronger with just a single belt drop too. Had a crit glove rotting on bench ended up having to make Void Staff for Syndra.
Yuumi had 0 items and Sera had Shojin, Adaptive, HoJ.
Would absolutely go this again if I have the line.
I would add B jewel is also busted on syndra (with RC powerup). At one point shes percamascastig reducing everyones mr and doing obsene damage.
I think i just had the craziest high roll. I started the game with 4 syndras and had 6 by 2-3. And immediately had rising Chaos on Syndra first try.
Then I tried to win stage 2 and had 2* naffiri and aatrox as a frontline which i win streaked with. I rolled hard (51 to 20) on 3-1 for syndra 3 since I had so many and got quite a few garen ez and rells on the way. And then I hit the augment hero101 which I took because my other choices where worse, but I still had a tear on my bench and thought what if I get a spatula and can put it on syndra that would be a crazy combo and then i just hit it on the next neutral round with a prismatic orb.
Complete free win, that combination is extremely good. I never lost a round till 5-2. Then went for level 9/50 gold skipping rolling on 8 and once I hit yuumi 2 and sera i got first.
I think what this guide is missing is the value of adaptive helm, at least that’s what I got from the stats on metatft.
I would add hero101 as a condition for this comp. Thinking about it if I tried harder to get a better power up on garen that would be worth it as well. Could even think about flexing the adaptive helm on garen earlier. Anyway very conditional, but wanted to share this game here https://www.metatft.com/player/euw1/Helmi-PUK?match=EUW1_7486563164
Isnt Locket + Adaptative + Titans the best BIS on garen? sample size is low, but has better wr
Quick tip: you can use star student on Garen early to get stacks a lot faster, then switch to regenerative later on
is locket best on garen?
Yes — If you look and see where it shows Syndra’s alt builds, you’ll see some pictures above her. Click on Garen’s portrait and it will show alt builds for him which includes the locket build.
Is there a reason there’s no shred in this comp?
Syndra has shred built in
Syndra’s shred can stack with real shred, so adding it in would be good.
Who uses the silvermere dawn in this comp?
Garen – yes, even without hero augment. It hasn’t been fully tested yet, only seen one game with it without hero augment and it looked quite strong, but it’s hard to tell with such low sample so I need more soldiers to test it and I will adjust tier accordingly.
For the record, you can click on other champion portraits above where you see Syndra to their alt builds / alt power ups.
Oh I didn’t see that on the website ty for helping
“Itemize Ezreal until you hit Yuumi 3, then switch items”. Is this correct? Just wanted to make sure, because this would be quite the unique requirement if it was
Lol no, of course not — fixed, thanks.
