Tips & Tricks
- This meta leans towards AP as AP has the highest cap final boards. There are 3 main paths to playing AP: 1) Demacia; 2) Ahri (which can also play Demacia); and 3) Noxus Bruiser Invokers.
- The main AP destinations are Mel Flex, Demacia Ryze, and Bruiser Ryze. These are all fast 9 lines that play around 5-costs. However, for Demacia Ryze, you can play 7 Demacia Lux on 8 if you are struggling to go 9.
- There are several AD lines in the meta, but they usually cap lower than the AP lines. Typically play for the AD comps when you are uncontested. The best AD comp is Kindred Lucian (often played from Draven opener or winstreak AD).
- The remaining AD options are typically fast 8 and opener dependent. Ionia Yone, Shadow Isles, Bilgewater, and Slayers are common options. Slayers can now play around Yasuo early game to unlock Yone.
- For reroll, the main options are Ahri Reroll, Leona + Malzahar reroll, and hero augment. Tryndamere can be played from exclusively artifact spots. Aphelios might be playable from some rare spots as well, but typically this patch is mostly about winning early and playing Fast 9 if possible.
- Ixtal is still good even after the quest nerfs. Econ augments are valuable because it allows you to easily level to 7 on 3-3 and unlock both Skarner + Nidalee on 3-5 if you have 2-star Neeko. The earlier Skarner and Nidalee help stabilize earlier which can help push higher cashouts.
- Kai’Sa is in a similar spot to last patch, except less conditional on having Void early game. This means you can consider her from more spots. That said, 4-cost comps are struggling compared to 5-costs so ideally play into Baron with high econ spots if possible.
Economy Strategy
- Without econ augment, fast 9 is almost impossible without win-streak.
- Level to 4 if you have upgrades and a good item to place on one of those upgrades.
- Level to 5, unless on 3-loss streak.
- Level to 6 if on 4+ win streak (scout to see if necessary in high elo) or can stay above 40g.
- Level to 6, unless you would go below 30g. If you have to stay level 5 due to low gold (rare), then level to 6 on 3-5.
- Level to 7 if you can stay above 30g, otherwise stay level 6.
- Level to 7, or 8 if you can stay above 30g.
- Level to 8. Main difference from Fast 8 is how much you roll on 8. Ideally you are high HP and don’t need to roll at all. Otherwise, roll for acceptable board and accumulate gold afterward.
- Level to 9 if you are rich enough to roll 40g+. Generally only possible with economy augment or encounter.
- Level to 9 if you can roll 40g+ or if low HP.
- Level to 9 and roll for important 5-costs. For the remainder of game, roll until you hit your 2 star itemized units. Can consider level 10 after hitting.
