Tips & Tricks
  • Gangplank’s ability no longer scales with range in 15.2. Stretchy Arms is still strong for getting higher uptime, but less necessary than before.
  • The only rule of the level 6 board so far is always play around Mighty Mech. Outside of that, it is completely fine to play 2 or even 3 Mentor in some cases. Play whatever you have, try to hold onto the Mentors and if it becomes too expensive, feel free to play multiple on your board.
  • Should roll a lot on 6, but want to go level 7 by 4-5 as hitting Ryze is quite important. Whether you hit Stretchy Arms or not will play a large factor in how stable you are before 4 Mentor + 3 stars.
  • Itemizing Yasuo is important, as even Yasuo 2 will do a lot for your board with 4 Mentor. Consider taking an item augment so you can itemize Kobuko + Gangplank + Yasuo sooner.
  • Rageblade and Kraken are core items on Gangplank, but the third item is flexible between Edge of Night, Infinity Edge, Striker’s Flail, and Deathblade (roughly in that order of strength).
  • Range artifacts are worse on Gangplank after they nerfed his ability’s range scaling, but they still look like decent artifacts because they increase Gangplank’s auto attack uptime which increases the value of Kraken and overall DPS.

Economy Strategy
  1. Level to 4 if you have upgrades and a good item to place on one of those upgrades.
  2. Level to 5, unless on 3 loss streak.
  3. Level to 6. Roll until stable. “Stable” changes depending on rank, items, augments, composition, and patch, but generally speaking it involves 2-starring your desired 2-cost carry and a tank with items. Major divergence between elos: The lower your elo, the less upgrades you need to be “stable” and thus lower elo players should generally roll less than high elo players on 3-2.
  4. After your 3-2 rolldown, you should attempt to rebuild your economy to 50g.
  5. Once you reach 50g (it might be later than 3-5), start slow rolling down to ~52g each turn. Try to avoid rolling to exactly 50g as any unit you want to buy in shop will put you below 50g.
  6. If you are high HP relative to the lobby, continue slow rolling to 52g each turn. If you are lower HP, you should roll to hit your first 2-cost 3 star on 4-1 or 4-2. If you have to roll below 30g, your placement is usually capped at 3rd or 4th.
  7. If you are still high HP (70+), you can continue to slow roll. Otherwise, in the majority of cases, you should roll deep for your 3-stars here. If your HP is low, you can even go to 0 gold looking for your 3-stars. If you have your 3-stars and can afford to level to 7 with 10g+, do so.
  8. Level to 7 if you haven’t already.
  9. Level to 8 as soon as possible. This may not happen until 5-5 or in some games, stage 6.
  10. Level to 9 whenever possible. This is rare, but can happen in the games you have a chance of winning.

Even post-nerf I think this is better than C tier, uncontested it is an easy top 4 nearly every time.

    1. smae

Agreed. Certainly not unplayable. That’s starfall neeko levels of bad lol.

  2. Author avatarGM Blue

B-patch is LIVE. GP got nerfed in 3 separate ways. Most likely not playable now. BE WARNED.

  3. smae

Fishbones plus double kraken was legitimately disgustingly broken btw. idk stats but just trust me on this

  4. Anonymous

Wouldn’t Sniper Focus fall in the ” OP ” category? Ofcourse having Stretchy Arms + Rageblade + Kraken.. Also if you’re lucky to get Lotus Augment so you get crit on ability anyway

  5. Anonymous

What do you use Suspicious Trench Coat on to make it S+?

    1. Anonymous

      yasuo

  6. Drew

I got this exact comp with the “current” GP build, except ALL items are Radiant. I didn’t get an Evenshroud, but as you can guess, I absolutely demolished the lobby.

This stuff is not healthy, I’m betting a HARD nerf is coming next patch

  7. Anonymous

sniper focus < edge of night . I just found out the hard way

  8. Mr Yabuki

is there any chance you can add artifact options for yasuo and kobuko?

    1. Anonymous

Yasuo with prowlers, IE, guardbreaker is pretty BIS. Kobuko doesnt have any crazy synergy with aritfacts ive found

      1. smae

        horizon?

  9. ivern is shinigami

what i hate about this comp is you do not need gp 3 to be a serious problem. for example 4 players had the exact repeat of this but the uncontested units never hit. it’s not supposed to work like that

  10. Chris

What is the best use of spat here

    1. Anonymous

      Probably strategist emblem

  11. Goolag

So is BIS dawncore Navori or Snipers? Seems like it’s dawn core but you put navori as BIS

    1. Author avatarGM Blue

Flickerblade is best (with the build shown — people were building it wrong before). Updated.

  12. GP Abuser

Overheal and Learn from the Best Augments are really good in this comp. Overheal allows GP and Yasuo to face tank some damage and to sustain through end game fights while they clean up enemy team. Learn from the best works for all mentors you own, they don’t have to be fielded for it to work. You get free stats on all units you will 3 star anyway.

  13. schizo dog

why AS on GP? i get its to makeup for lack of full duelist, but wouldnt he scale better with ad? or am i wrong

    1. haengbokhae

when you hit stretchy arms it’s better

    2. ivern is shinigami

the synergy cap higher on damage with those items

  14. Anonymous

treasure hunt absolutely should make this an S

  15. Anonymous

    pretty nice

  16. smae

If you get RFC for GP what fruit do you go? Rampaging rage?

    1. harsh

you still go strechy arm since you gain damage amp with rfc for every hex

      1. Anonymous

        ur thinking of snipers focus

  17. Eren

I beat prismatic soul fighters at stage 6 with this comp

  18. Vellichor

First time trying the comp and I was able to ~12 win streak at the start of the game (as someone that usually goes for a loss streak) and ended 1st. struggled slightly mid-game, but i think thats because it took me forever to hit GP 3*. imo, GP 3* itself didn’t feel that strong and definitely felt much better once I hit yas 3*

  19. ivern is shinigami

it’s honestly mid. just go dark amulet katerina to see what i mean
