Tips & Tricks
- Ixtal provides you quests throughout the game that reward you Sunshards. Eventually, you can cash them out for a reward and if you get enough of them, you can unlock Brock which is a powerful 7-cost
- Brock does not require you to get all the Sunshards in a singular cash out. You can unlock him even if you cash out multiple times, as long as you get enough Sunshards throughout the game.
- Generally only play from spots where you have Ixtal on 2-1
- Make sure to prioritize Gargoyle with Chain / Cloak as you really want to unlock Skarner
- Realistically you won’t unlock Volibear in most Ixtal games, so can play around Sejuani + Vi + Loris package. Be flexible, once you cash out you just want to play your strongest board. The example boards provided are good endgame states, but your post cashout board will not look like them at all.
- General quest strategy: Try to prioritize quests that provide you the highest amount of Sunshards per round. Typically this is the buy XP, have X gold, or lose X rounds quests. As such, you will almost never want to level or prepump XP before seeing new quests. Instead, maintain high gold.
- Always be mindful of how much gold a quest will take to complete (e.g: reroll quests are typically quite expensive, but can be okay after you stacked up Bard rolls). Losing early game is not mandatory if you are not on a lose quest, but you will often lose anyway due to playing a weaker board.
- Sometimes the game offers you terrible quests. It’s part of the variance of this trait and there’s not much you can do about it. Technically you can early cashout, but most of the win potential from this line comes from big cashouts so just be mentally prepared for getting unlucky sometimes.
- In an ideal world, cash out as high as you can (above 500). The 500 cashouts are not typically good enough to guarantee a 1st place. If you can achieve a higher cashout, it’s worth going for.

Economy Strategy
- Level to 4 if you have upgrades and a good item to place on one of those upgrades.
- Level to 5, unless on 3 loss streak.
- Level to 6 if on 4+ win streak (scout to see if necessary in high elo) or can stay above 40g.
- Level to 6, unless you would go below 30g. If you have to stay level 5 due to low gold (rare), then level to 6 on 3-5.
- Level to 7 if you can stay above 30g, otherwise stay level 6.
- Level to 7.
- Level to 8. Roll for desired comp until stable. “Stable” changes depending on rank, items, augments, composition, and patch. Melee carries and tanks get the biggest spike for 2-stars. Usually stable involves 2-star tank or carry and some other supporting 2-stars. Try not to roll below 10g.
- If you are weak (e.g., have no 2-star 4-costs), consider rolling again to 10g here. If you are stable, save gold to go 9.
- If you are low HP and haven’t 2-starred your carry and tank, roll to 0g. If you have medium to high HP with an upgraded + itemized 4-cost unit and some other upgrades, save gold to go 9.
- If high HP, consider waiting until 5-5 to go level 9. If medium HP, consider going level 9 if you can roll 20g or wait until 5-5. If low HP and can afford to go 9, do so even if you have almost no gold to roll on 9. If you can’t afford to go 9 this game, roll every turn for upgrades.
- Level to 9 if possible. From this point onward, look to level to 9. Acknowledge games where level 9 is not possible and roll every turn on 8 to preserve placements.
- For max cap games, you can either roll on 9 or level to 10. If you are itemizing a 5-cost carry and it is 1-starred, roll on 9. If you have all your main itemized units upgraded, level to 10.

Must train this combo after hiting new rank so when you lose nothing happen but it worth train for specific match that get milo early

1st or 8th comp
But usually just 8th
I only go for this if I get a simple quest a la field trait for 13 combats so I can preserve as much HP as possible. Too easy to get griefed and go 8th.

i keep trying this comp and it never works. got the mission to lose 3 combats in sequence and won against a shadow isles comp that was 3rd place up to that point. in another match i did my best to avoid quests that required losing but my comp didn’t won a single fight anyway bc of how weak they are. i just wanted to get brock for my book </3
everytime i commit to this comp, all lobby get a prismatic orb at 3-7 and fuck me over
Finding it really hard to stabilize when doing quests. Just feels like you are constantly bleeding HP.
