Tips & Tricks
- Roll for the 5 Ionia board versions instead of 7 Ionia on 4-2. If you are high HP and way ahead, you can play 7 Ionia with Path of the Enlightened but otherwise try and play around 5 Ionia even on the 4-2 rolldown.
- Path of Prosperity (farm gold and AD/AP based on how much gold you farmed) is the best path and should always get played into Ionia if you have an Ionia opener. Heavily angle this line if you have this path.
- Yunara generally wants Rageblade + Infinity Edge. Crit is important as her spell autos require crit to do true damage. Third item is flexible between Striker’s, Giant Slayer, Titans, and Kraken.
- For the Ionia paths, this is the rough order of strength: Prosperity > Enlightened > Spirits > Transcendent > Blades. There is a big gap between Spirits and Transcendent
- Try and position Sett so he takes aggro at the start of the fight. There are circumstances where you might want to consider solo frontlining the Sett, but this comes with the risk of enemy units walking up and potentially wrapping. Try to never position a tank directly next to Sett if possible.
- Taric can be dropped for Skarner, Fiddlesticks, or Senna. Taric 2 is better than Fiddle or Senna 1, but Senna 1 / Fiddle 1 is better than Taric 1.
- In Patch 16.5, Yunara’s AP scaling was changed from increasing attack speed to increasing damage. This made Titan’s Resolve worse on her than prior patches, but it is still a good 3rd item if you can’t build Striker’s or Giant Slayer.

Economy Strategy
- Level to 4 if you have upgrades and a good item to place on one of those upgrades.
- Level to 5, unless on 3 loss streak.
- Level to 6 if on 4+ win streak (scout to see if necessary in high elo) or can stay above 40g.
- Level to 6, unless you would go below 30g. If you have to stay level 5 due to low gold (rare), then level to 6 on 3-5.
- Level to 7 if you can stay above 30g, otherwise stay level 6.
- Level to 7.
- Level to 8. Roll for desired comp until stable. “Stable” changes depending on rank, items, augments, composition, and patch. Melee carries and tanks get the biggest spike for 2-stars. Usually stable involves 2-star tank or carry and some other supporting 2-stars. Try not to roll below 10g.
- If you are weak (e.g., have no 2-star 4-costs), consider rolling again to 10g here. If you are stable, save gold to go 9.
- If you are low HP and haven’t 2-starred your carry and tank, roll to 0g. If you have medium to high HP with an upgraded + itemized 4-cost unit and some other upgrades, save gold to go 9.
- If high HP, consider waiting until 5-5 to go level 9. If medium HP, consider going level 9 if you can roll 20g or wait until 5-5. If low HP and can afford to go 9, do so even if you have almost no gold to roll on 9. If you can’t afford to go 9 this game, roll every turn for upgrades.
- Level to 9 if possible. From this point onward, look to level to 9. Acknowledge games where level 9 is not possible and roll every turn on 8 to preserve placements.
- For max cap games, you can either roll on 9 or level to 10. If you are itemizing a 5-cost carry and it is 1-starred, roll on 9. If you have all your main itemized units upgraded, level to 10.

Senna 2 was hard countered by a user that hits Yunara 2. first. This player contested me by holding 6 yunaras on purpose although I had sett 2 with crit and luden echo. Insane patch…
air axiom is a problem on this comp. 1 cost yunara did 8000 damage versus my own which only did 3000 damage. This player did not have best in slot yunara but i did.
Air axiom is so busted on this comp
thank you for your guids!
After successful games I’m receiveing DMs about no brain copying guides. I like it!
Duo Queue feels pretty good, feels like a +1 Tier condition
When Ionia is the one that gives 3/4/5% AD/AP per Ionian cast, I like to go 7 Ionia to both buff more units, and stack buffs faster.
I wonder what caused Yunara’s BIS to include a Titan’s now.
Kraken’s was always a flex slot. It might genuinely just be people tried different things and got better results with titan’s.
Also bear in mind there was a nerf to Kraken’s.
Yunara’s spell scales with AP, it gets stacked really fast with rageblade & quickstriker and immunity to CC is quite nice
I destroyed this comp with Gwen
I think cappa juice is strong on yuunara and worth angling this line if you hit it, especially with win streak jhin opener.
Some people are building titan’s on yunara, does anybody know why?
read the item
avoid stun. yunara need anti stun to deal damage
Riot killed off Yunara with the last patch – 2* Yunara with shown Items got outdamaged by Wukong with shown items in every single fight lol
Gunblade looks great on sett
is titans yunara real? seeing it couple times on ladder + tft academy has it as alt build
No idea why the 5 Ionia recommendation is a thing, nobody listen to that, I have pivoted into every single one at least twice and IMMEDIATELY when pivoted into the board the comp just starts freefalling to 8th place, all 3 of the 5 ionia boards are terrible. stay 7 ionia
Lol hate to say it, but you are definitely NOT supposed to do that. In fact, most people are not playing 7 Ionia even on level 8 and are just immediately playing 5 Ionia after their 4-2 rolldown with whatever units they find. You are free to play however you want, but I promise you it’s not 7 Ionia if you are serious about climbing.
this comp is so broken, went 1st twice, did hit lv3 yunara one game and lv3 wukong the next tho, the gold gen is so busted lmao.
Hi GM Blue, i’m really glad for all the work you’ve been doing here. Thank you for mapping this so precisely.
For my contribution: i’m not sure Fishbones positively impacts this comp.
I’ve tested it a lot, and honestly, it destroys the yunara”s focus and possibilities to destroy two carries (front + back) at the same time.
Thank you for everything !
Don’t like it. It got contested in such a weird way including players filling their board with Diana while griefing Ionia.
Can you include this other 5 Ionia board recently being played by junglebook and yby1 https://tftflow.com/team-builder/ed57661a
Added, thanks. Definitely one of the best of the 5 Ionia boards currently, should have been on site already so appreciate you pointing out the oversight
If you can unlock Skarner, it’s a decision between Skarner or Taric, depending on AD/AP heavy lobby. Both can be played on lvl8/9 instead of Swain-Ahri-Shyvana package (usually drop down to 3 Ionia) if you are contested and you 2* them on a rolldown before Wukong.
When you get to level 9 with yunara 2 and kindred 2. do you want the items on yunara or kindred? if you only have 1 set of backline items. i assume yunara since its 5 ionia
any answers?
If you have stacked gold/XP Ionia for the whole game, Yunara should be stronger. After building Yunara and Wukong items next priority are Sett>Kindred items. If you have no IE for Yunara (example rageblade + kraken + gs) i can see Kindred outdamaging Yunara, but in that spot its questionable if you should’ve angled Ionia.
Path of “Generosity” in the team notes should be “Prosperity,” right?
path of blade looks broken strong
