  • There are 2 ways to play this: Protectors or Star Guardian. The Protector version fits nicely on 7 with either Smolder or Kog’Maw (Smolder currently better). If you can’t find Lulu early enough to play around it, play more Strategists.
  • However, it is not known whether the Protector or Star Guardian version is better yet as this augment is not played often due to its general underperformance

Economy Strategy
  1. Level to 4 if strong.
  2. Level to 5, unless on 3 loss streak.
  3. Level to 6, unless it places you below 30g.
  4. Stay level 6, unless you can stay above 50g on 7 or you are below 40 HP and can stay above 30g on 7.
  5. Level to 7, roll until board mostly upgraded. Never go below 10g even if missing tank or carry.
  6. Build up to 50g, slow roll to 50g until 5-1.
  7. If below ~25 HP, sometimes you must roll until you hit here. Not ideal.
  8. Roll until you hit 3-star carry and tank. Can go to 0g. Only greed gold if you are above ~60 HP.
  9. If you hit, you can level to 8. Otherwise stay 7. Holds true for every round for the rest of the game.

    Honestly had horrible luck with this augment. Shes supposed to be tanky since she has the protector trait but her ability is so bad. It gives her damage reduction and a heal over time, but the amount of times she’s died during the spin channel? Almost every single time. Her heal is wasted because it happens over a duration instead of an instant pop like other units, meaning her chance of dying is much higher if you out-dps the heal at any point.

    The wind up makes her a terrible unit, with or without starfall. She has to gain mana by hitting 4 attacks in melee range so she has to survive in the frontline for at least 12 or 16 hits to hit the entire map. She’s the only one like this where you can kill her before the heal fully happens. And to do that while full damage or half damage just doesn’t seem viable. That’s like trying to make full-damage Viego work in the frontline without stretchyarms. If you place her in the back, you lose out on a frontline unit now, and her channel takes way too long that your other tanks will die before she gets a large enough to hit the carries. You might as well play Ahri, because in the time Neeko gets to hit the carries, Ahri will probably have killed all their tanks and you’re hitting their backline already.

    star guardian version feels very good with all the buffs to the comp and find your center augment, def one of the better carry augments on the new patch

    Neeko definitely feels like one of the stronger Hero Augments in the current patch (15.2d), just behind Garen and Malphite. Two games going first with 6 Guardians with the backline carry being Smolder in one game, TF in a second game.

    I think core build is definitely Edge of Night, Archangel, plus 1 (either JG or 2nd AA). Other than that, the K’Sante 2 being the main tank is so important. I personally ended up prioritizing Power Up on the K’Sante over Smolder because the aggro toggling makes a big deal in winning late game fights.

    The fight typically plays out with K’Sante being aggro’d first, then when he dies and revives, Neeko takes aggro. Then EoN procs, and aggro jumps back to K’Sante. By that point, Neeko is usually on her 3rd or 4th cast and you’ll just wipe backline.

    Yeah this looks like it 100% is her best build. Just got a first in a diamond 4 lobby playing the protector version. Took Wand Overflow 3-2 and Preemptive Protection 4-2 Crimson Veil Neeko. From recent games, it looks like people are playing ryze as a j4 substitute to try to help neekos uptime with the mentor bonus. Neeko 1 is very bad, neeko 2 is able to win fights, but you’re most likely losing all of stage 3. I was positioning like this in my game https://tftflow.com/team-builder/811fc1f5
    My thought process was ksante tanks until he all outs, then neeko gets aggro and drops it from eon, ksante gets targeted again and by the time he dies neeko is hitting backline with her cast. *Important note* there was no Jayce player in my game. My main takeaway for positioning is you want to preserve your eon by having ksante all out before it procs. It’s kind of matchup dependent, you can’t afk it if the people you’re playing against are paying attention

    I played her from a Zhonya’s start (Yone Portal) and she felt pretty good; Zhonya’s consistently allows her to get in one more cast which was often the difference maker in the fight, since she’d drop aggro, heal, and start bombing the backline

    personal thoughts from my 1 time clicking it…

    neeko CAN 1v9 some midgame fights but it never really looks consistent at all. the main issue is when she just dies because she doesn’t drain tank mana anymore after becoming a magic fighter. I think the rageblade does help. I believe star guardian may be higher cap because the healing % makes it so you dont just fall over after getting smacked by sunfire but idk on that one. Conceptually titans seems good to me because it helps her cast w. CC immunity + armor mr

    Some personal thoughts on starfall neeko, I’ve tried quite a lot of it and while I agree that it’s bad, I don’t think it’s completely unplayable. I’ve had good results by early game building full tank on neeko, hunting for max vitality and farming value with long fights; generally playing 4-6 protectors. I try to loss streak by only playing tanks. I do Ahri Neeko rr @7 with 6 prot until I hit 3* on both. In most games, I’ll put one or two of her late-game items on early, then after 3* neeko, I transfer tank items to k’sante. After that I’ll either move to like a sg vertical with 4 prot, or like some 4 prot 4 sorcs thing.

    tldr it still kinda blows but I think with the right strat it’s pushing c tier

    I think that this augment is bad now cause Star Guardian is so contested. But with good items and good tempo u can top 1, i got a game with BT+warmog+adaptive helm got second vs voli 3

    Yep, this augment is not great at all
