Tips & Tricks
- This comp can use many items and has “ideal” items. Jhin wants crit items (see tips below regarding IE specifically), Gnar wants Rageblade + Kraken and Dr. Mundo wants Dragon’s Claw + Spirit Visage. You shouldn’t greed for all perfect items, but be aware of them and try to angle them when possible.
- Make sure to add Aatrox, Naafiri, and Vi to your team planner as playing for 6 Juggernaut before hitting 4 Luchador is common.
- Jhin itemization is complex. Rageblade scales his AD due to his passive, but is generally not a good item because you would rather him do much more damage up front (he already does a lot of damage without needing scaling).
- Jhin likes crit chance because his autos and 4th shot do a ton of damage when they crit. This means IE is fine to build despite his ability already critting without it, because IE provides 35% crit chance and 10% increased crit damage. Other crit items only give 20% crit chance.
- His best non-crit items are Deathblade, Edge of Night, Gunblade, and Giant Slayer. His best builds typically involve 2 crit items (such as IE + Striker’s) and one of these 4 items. You can also build 3 crit items. Crit items are Striker’s, Infinity Edge, Last Whisper, and less commonly HoJ / QSS.
- Talisman of Ascension Mundo can be 1st or 8th as it completely varies based on his ability to ascend, which depends on the strength of your board. The weaker your board, the less likely he ascends and thus the weaker the artifact.

Economy Strategy
- Level to 4 if you have upgrades and a good item to place on one of those upgrades.
- Level to 5, unless on 3 loss streak.
- Level to 6. Roll until stable. “Stable” changes depending on rank, items, augments, composition, and patch, but generally speaking it involves 2-starring your desired 2-cost carry and a tank with items. Major divergence between elos: The lower your elo, the less upgrades you need to be “stable” and thus lower elo players should generally roll less than high elo players on 3-2.
- After your 3-2 rolldown, you should attempt to rebuild your economy to 50g.
- Once you reach 50g (it might be later than 3-5), start slow rolling down to ~52g each turn. Try to avoid rolling to exactly 50g as any unit you want to buy in shop will put you below 50g.
- If you are high HP relative to the lobby, continue slow rolling to 52g each turn. If you are lower HP, you should roll to hit your first 2-cost 3 star on 4-1 or 4-2. If you have to roll below 30g, your placement is usually capped at 3rd or 4th.
- If you are still high HP (70+), you can continue to slow roll. Otherwise, in the majority of cases, you should roll deep for your 3-stars here. If your HP is low, you can even go to 0 gold looking for your 3-stars. If you have your 3-stars and can afford to level to 7 with 10g+, do so.
- Level to 7 if you haven’t already.
- Level to 8 as soon as possible. This may not happen until 5-5 or in some games, stage 6.
- Level to 9 whenever possible. This is rare, but can happen in the games you have a chance of winning.
Solid but def not a top 1 comp, pretty consitent top 4 and maybe more if you hit jhin fast and can go 9
What’s mogul mail build on dr mundo
How do you deal with mundo jumping and enemy focusing jhin down?
you can place him on the focused side so he procs the luchador before he stays as the last frontline unit, when juggs die they heal other juggs. So after they stop focussing the mundo and kill the other juggs they heal eachother/mundo.
You can also solo front him but idk if thats the best option
How exactly do you use crown of demacia here? Do you use it on Jhin After IE and Strike Flail or is it more on someone like Mundo or maybe Gnar?
Take a look at Dr. Mundo’s alt builds — usually if there an item as a condition for a comp, it will be included as a build for a champion which you can see in the section that shows the champion’s current build, best in slot, and alt builds. You can see this for multiple champions that are itemized, just click the portraits of the champions above the build area to switch.
This comp is very good in the early game if you are able to hit your units early even with bad items. But artifacts in this comp is a deal breaker, wihout one, the comp is just weak in the mid game and falls off significantly in later stages. I think to win out with this comp only fishbones can provide Jhin with the ability to one shot the enemy backline carry.
guinsoo’s on jhin still super troll? and is 3 star gnar mandatory
3 star gnar is not needed but helps, guinsoo is good on jhin if fights last longer, its also an amazing slam on gnar in the early game and a pretty good item on jhin
do u need put archangel on mundo? like some people do i mean
Shadow clone gnar with gambler’s blade/rageblade/kraken’s goes pretty hard!
it sucks without explosive artifacts
Just wrote a bunch of tips talking about Jhin’s itemization and why IE looks good in the stats when paired with crit items even though Jhin’s auto attacks already crit without it.
Should make a few LVL 8 boards to aim for. Most of the games you will not make lvl 9. I see that you do that in al off your comps (lvl9 capped board). but sometimes be more realistic and give us the standard lvl8 board.
you can click on the “main board” tab above the comp where you can pick the “level 8 – no legendaries” board. or other boards.
i dont know if its a positioning diff but since mundo is often the last tank standing, when he activates luchador it allows the enemy backline to go straight for jhin since mundo drops aggro
Stats and logic (Jhin’s spell is an Auto-Attack) do not support building IE on Jhin, what do you think?
Yeah I agree, thought IE caused the 4th shot to crit because it was actually quite solid in stats, but can confirm it is not necessary for 4th shot to crit. It still looks okay as an item though, which probably just means building crit and having crit damage isn’t bad, but I don’t know the optimal build right now. I have made some updates for what I THINK the best options are based on stats, but sample is too low on everything to really know for certain. Will prob update in a few days when there is more data to know for certain.
I think Attack expert does way more front to back than Artistic K.O. miniscule splash damage
The value of Artistic K.O is great since the extra damage to kill one could be 1000 or 100, i’d rather take my chance than waste the extra damage
