Tips & Tricks
- For the emblem cashout (500 gems), see the emblem cashout variations. Sniper Emblem and Heavyweight can get reforged if you have a reforger. The rest are all usable in 7 Crystal Gambit. The main difference for emblem cashout is dropping Braum / Udyr for Yone / Ryze
- Buy K’Sante during your level 8 rolldown as 2 star K’Sante stays on the board most of the time unless you fully upgrade Udyr / Jarvan.
- 5 Crystal kill counts got lowered again in Patch 15.5, so they are easier to reach at 5 Crystal. If you can play a strong 5 Crystal board, consider going that route instead of lose streaking.

Economy Strategy
- Level to 4 if you have upgrades and a good item to place on one of those upgrades.
- Level to 5, unless on 3 loss streak.
- Level to 6 if on 4+ win streak (scout to see if necessary in high elo) or can stay above 40g.
- Level to 6, unless you would go below 30g. If you have to stay level 5 due to low gold (rare), then level to 6 on 3-5.
- Level to 7 if you can stay above 30g, otherwise stay level 6.
- Level to 7.
- Level to 8. Roll for desired comp until stable. “Stable” changes depending on rank, items, augments, composition, and patch. Melee carries and tanks get the biggest spike for 2-stars. Usually stable involves 2-star tank or carry and some other supporting 2-stars. Try not to roll below 10g.
- If you are weak (e.g., have no 2-star 4-costs), consider rolling again to 10g here. If you are stable, save gold to go 9.
- If you are low HP and haven’t 2-starred your carry and tank, roll to 0g. If you have medium to high HP with an upgraded + itemized 4-cost unit and some other upgrades, save gold to go 9.
- If high HP, consider waiting until 5-5 to go level 9. If medium HP, consider going level 9 if you can roll 20g or wait until 5-5. If low HP and can afford to go 9, do so even if you have almost no gold to roll on 9. If you can’t afford to go 9 this game, roll every turn for upgrades.
- Level to 9 if possible. From this point onward, look to level to 9. Acknowledge games where level 9 is not possible and roll every turn on 8 to preserve placements.
- For max cap games, you can either roll on 9 or level to 10. If you are itemizing a 5-cost carry and it is 1-starred, roll on 9. If you have all your main itemized units upgraded, level to 10.
What do you play at level 8 without a Zyra (or a TF as the other comment suggested, since they’re both 5 costs)?
Can you add some example comps of 5 Crystal Gambit if you get stuck without a spat?
No because it’s not viable. You’ll just lose out, especially with Ashe in her current state.
Ashe is so bad this patch. Still worth playing in 15.5?
Crystal Gambit is disgustingly broken, but Ashe sucks. So in short, no – it’s not worth playing. You’d rather cash out into another comp. But because 5 Crystal is so broken this patch and because Crystal is broken this patch, this line is viable as it abuses 5 Crystal which you can’t do in any other line really.
When do you cash out??
What to play at 8 without a Zyra?
I like to play with Twisted Fate. I give him Red buff, Last Whisper, and RG to apply debuff and roll until comp is stable so you can farm with 5 Gambits (with or without Zyra).

braum is a piece of crap. every crab rave he gets me killed by throwing the crab too far
Just played it, realy dont need emblem. If you have items and can hit ashe for 5 crystal its a free win… Discustingly easy
i had diamond hands 400 stacks, it gave me 1 artefact, 1 completed item, 1 spat bruh this shi is CHEEKS… only play if u find early ashe and can farm kills
It is not about cashout.. you need to find emblem or ashe in early, having atleast a guinsoo and secure wins as possible.
hit a 210 cashout, it was 4x 4-cost units which none of them were part of this comp. absolute fkin garbaggio comp, S-tier my ass
Its kinda trash as an econ augment pre-7 but if you can highroll and start just cashing out over and over its a wrap. I just high rolled a lobby out of my freaking mind running this comp and by the end had enough stats and items to beat an 8 soul fighter samira 3 twice in a row to close out the game
comp is basically dead, cashout thresholds are very weird
Cashout was a little weird, and I got lucky and got a spat off rd3 carousel. Hit Braum 2* late in round 5, itemized with steraks, crystal gambit emblem and rageblade. Dude went down faster than a (insert witty comment here..)
Took second, first time I’ve plaid this comp right this set. it felt good once I hit and I didn’t lose any rounds until it was just two of us left.
Can’t never reach 210, tried multiple times, don’t know what am I doing wrong, cash out always hit +260
this build got stomped by janna reroll! the crew were all the tanks and 4 protector was stable. malphite had atomic with triple warmogs. janna only used 2 items to win. archangel and rage blade. fruit for janna super genius. i had a fully itemized ashe, braum and every unit to fill as 7 gambit. ashs had rageblade, double kraken.
My two star ashe had 2 flickerblades with hextech gunblade plus golem with crystal gambit emblem,and on top of that,one more emblem from carousel. Auto win btw
So, i went Crystal Gambit pretty frequently and made many wins so Far, but this time after i got swain from an orb and doubled down, my Math didnt add up. At my second Round Doubling down, i was at 167 Stacks and i wouldve got 41 stacks per loss so the Round 3 and 4 should be at 208 and 249, EXACTLY 1 away from hitting the next Milestone and losing the chance of getting a Spatula (I didnt kill any Units in those Rounds). For some Reason, at Round 3 i got 209 instead of the promised 208 and then came the Payout and the Round was practically over after purposley Losing Mutiple rounds to get the wished Payout.
So there is this inconsistency you should be aware of.
If you don’t find Braum you can flex with TF or Gwen, they work pretty well tbh

i think upgrades means having a 2 star unit or more (like 2 star 1 cost, 2 cost or even 3 cost unit) and also good items that suit them to push for early winstreaks
