Tips & Tricks
  • Play this similar to standard Bilgewater. In other words, play for tempo. Use your serpents on stats when you can’t buy anything from the shop that will immediately upgrade your board or move you up a trait breakpoint.
  • Likewise, this line will also prioritize at least one 7 Bilgewater item. Captain’s Brew is a bit different in this line. It has less value in end game, but it’s still strong midgame on TF so you should buy it most games if offered it just to be stronger Stage 3/4.
  • Other than that, you will want to toggle down to 3 Bilgewater (play 7 Bilgewater during rounds, toggle to 3 during planning phase when buying from shop). This gives you the highest odds of Illaoi, which you can 3 star to make your board stronger AND help unlock Volibear.
  • Make sure to remember to unlock Kobuko on 4-7 neutrals. If you are playing a standard 7 Bilgewater board from Stage 4, you might struggle to unlock Kobuko. Illaoi 3 + TK 1 + Fizz 2 will do it, so it’s not hard to get in the line, but you might need to play one or two extra units to unlock him.

Economy Strategy
  1. Without econ augment, fast 9 is almost impossible without win-streak.
  2. Level to 4 if you have upgrades and a good item to place on one of those upgrades.
  3. Level to 5, unless on 3-loss streak.
  4. Level to 6 if on 4+ win streak (scout to see if necessary in high elo) or can stay above 40g.
  5. Level to 6, unless you would go below 30g. If you have to stay level 5 due to low gold (rare), then level to 6 on 3-5.
  6. Level to 7 if you can stay above 30g, otherwise stay level 6.
  7. Level to 7, or 8 if you can stay above 30g.
  8. Level to 8. Main difference from Fast 8 is how much you roll on 8. Ideally you are high HP and don’t need to roll at all. Otherwise, roll for acceptable board and accumulate gold afterward.
  9. Level to 9 if you are rich enough to roll 40g+. Generally only possible with economy augment or encounter.
  10. Level to 9 if you can roll 40g+ or if low HP.
  11. Level to 9 and roll for important 5-costs. For the remainder of game, roll until you hit your 2 star itemized units. Can consider level 10 after hitting.

      You just play it as u usually would with tf/graves versions but roll illaoi from shops prio. Tank items r rly strong (evenshroud is a good slam for illaoi), voli items on graves, ap util on tf, fizz holds jg + barrel bilge item. Illaoi 3* + 4 bruiser unlocks voli. Play voli + 7 bilge on 8 til u unlock tahm and bilge item, then change board to this one.
      Illaoi tahm fizz (bilge) + kobuko (yordle) and voli are core, any 2 freljord + targon to toggle ryze is fine til u get the ones shown.

        i spammed Ryze everytime i got TF starter.
        – need a lot of belts. often slam Sterak if shop is good, otherwise keep belt to make Warmog or have to roll Wukong 2* as we roll Fizz 2* and MF to keep the tempo
        – need Voli unlock at early stage 4.
        – need highroll on other BW units as you spend all coin to buy Illaoi (sometime couldnt, then have to do what i mentioned)
        – need Fizz 2* if cant unlock Voli
        – need MF to buy Cutthroat or Blackmarket
        – need econ to rush 9
        – phew
        – even then, it’s hard to beat reroll comps like Ekko and Sion if board is not fully upgraded

        sadly it still doesnt take enough practice for me to master this comp, like stable at level 8 and transit at late stage 5 maybe. hopefully the comp still playable after the BW nerf

      Yeah…. just lost to an entire lobby of 2 and 3 cost rerolls while im over here with 3 illaois, 2 taric, 2* bruisers on my bench trying to toggle 3 bilge for champ duplicators and unluck koboku to get illaoi 3 to unluck voli to unlock ryze AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
